Best Paper Award of the REV 23 Conference

Konrad Boettcher (BCI), Alexander Behr (BCI), Claudius Terkowsky (zhb) and Marcel Schade (BCI) have received the international GOLC Award 2023 (Global Online Laboratory Consortium) in the category "Simulated Experiments" for their contribution "Home Laboratories in Fluid Mechanics". Congratulations!

The simulated laboratory experiments are based on various QVM projects on immersive laboratories in virtual reality. The laboratory experiments offer an insight into experimentally inaccessible aspects of fluid physics and allow experimentation with theoretical constructs such as balances on differential volume elements. The laboratories, instructionally embedded in the teaching, increase the effectiveness, efficiency and motivation of the students and allow access without restrictions in time and place. The combination of instructional and technical design of cross-reality labs is being researched in the joint project CrossLab with the partners TU Bergakademie Freiberg, TU Ilmenau and the Nordakademie der Wirtschaft in Elmshorn and is funded by the foundation "Innovation in der Hochschullehre". The award ceremony took place at the REV2023 (Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation) conference in Thessaloniki.
