The Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering 2025, jointly organized by the DECHEMA/VDI Subject Divisions for Chemical Reaction Engineering, Electrochemical Processes, and Kinetics and Reaction Mechanisms, brought together 237 participants for a dynamic exchange between academia and industry. With 38 lectures, 122 poster presentations, and several awards, the conference once again proved to be a key platform for discussing current developments and identifying synergies in reaction engineering.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norbert Kockmann gave a lecture on “(Micro-)Reactors as the Heart of Modular (Bio-)Chemical Research and Production Plants”, highlighting innovative approaches to modular process design and microreactors from the Laboratory of Equipment Design. Alina Tauriainen presented her poster titled “Microreactor Design for Biocatalytic Reactions and Enzyme Immobilization in Flow”, contributing to the scientific exchange with her research on biocatalysis in 3D-printed microreactor applications. In addition, the NFDI4Cat project was actively involved, hosting a workshop and providing a stand that served as a hub for professional exchange and networking.
