DFG: Stirred-pulsed extraction columns
Characterization and scale-up of transport processes in miniaturized stirred-pulsed extraction columns
Continuous, multi-stage extraction processes can already be investigated on a laboratory scale by using miniaturized extraction columns. For this purpose, the laboratory of Equipment Design developed an agitated-pulsed column with an inner diameter of 15 mm. The project aims to investigate hydrodynamics and mass transport in this column systematically and subsequently design stirred-pulsed columns with larger diameters.
